Shimmy for the Cure Co 2009:

When: June 11-14, 2009
What: SFCCo is a bellydance fundraising event for education & prevention of breast cancer. This year we are donating to the Breast Cancer - Network of Strength.
Where: Swallow Hill, Mercury Cafe, & Under the Umbrella
***We moved this year back to Swallow Hill - plenty of parking, space, and great stage for the show***

Workshops & Spectacular Show
June 11th (Thursday): Henna Party & Mini Swap
Kick off the weekend of fun and get decorated for the SFCCo festivities with a henna party! Call Anita at 303-761-9742 to book a private appointment or to schedule your time at the henna party. ***Mini Swap - If you are attending then you can bring one - three items to trade. This is a small event and no tables or racks will be available. More informal trading.***
June 12th (Friday): Une Soiree de la Danse
An evening of dance performances and open dance to kick off SFCCo 2009. Contact Saira (sairadancer@comcast.net) if you wish to perform. Please understand that you will not be confirmed to perform until after you have registered with Phoenix for the workshop(s).
June 13th (Saturday):
Workshops and a Spectacular Show

Workshops:
**The Saturday Workshops are selling out fast -- especially the Rromany Dance. If you are registering after 5/15 - then check with Phoenix to ensure there is room as there is limited space in all the workshops.***
Artemis’s Turkish Rromany (Gypsy) & Skirt Dance - Learn a dance which has been performed for the past 1000 years along with the history, costuming, music & culture of the Turkish Rromany people.
Selayma’s Funkified Pop Choreography - This workshop will focus on alternative options for dance expression and a choreography.
Spectacular Show at Swallow Hill - Saturday Night:
Doors at 6pm & Show at 7pm
Featuring Artemis Mourat, Selayma, Rafi’ah, Phoenix, & many more

Artemis’s Turkish Oriental Dance Workshop - Learn "the dance which could melt a stone" with passion and spontaneity. (Does that not say it all)
Rafi’ah’s Drum Drama Workshop - Combinations for various levels using more than your hips and pops to accent your drum solos. Spice it up!
